Announce-ment Day

Okay, so the announcement on the pay cut was made today.

Before that, the staff has been already asking me why are they cutting the pay (can see in their payslips). I just pretend I don't know about it.

Then when Payroll sent the announcement to their emails, it suddenly became very noisy; everyone just dump what they're been doing and swarmed the PCs to see how much they deduct.

"Why are they cutting our pay??"

"What? RM900++!"

"This wasn't our fault right? It was Payroll's mistake!"

I suddenly felt guilty for exposing the secret.

Manager: "You guys should know this day will come. I'm sure you all know that there are excess cash going in your account every month but you just kept quiet about it. Now the company is taking back the money and all you do is make noise."

Bye Bye Charade

Recently, when I was back to hometown, I was asked by my dad to sign a few documents. Apparently, he finally decided to scrap my old Daihatsu Charade to get a new car (yay!)

Then after that, I realized the car isn't for me, it's for my brother instead (or is it for my dad himself?). But Nivlac insisted that if my old car is under my name, the new one will be automatically registered under my name as well (after they scrapped it). Anyone know about stuff like this?

Say hello to the new Myvi SE.

And bye bye to the old Charade.

Honest or Stupiak?

I did something in the office lately, which will change the whole department probably starting next month.

Sounds like something big and important huh? It actually helps the company but not the staff.

You see, I notice that company payroll in India actually pays me and some of the staff extra in previous months... so I asked HR why do I get that extra few hundreds... and when they investigate, it seems to be a mistake did by payroll and no one said anything about it till I found it out myself.

Which means, HR will do the adjustments and deduct the overpaid amount from everyone in the company starting next month, including me!

Argh... honest or stupid ah?

Hepi With New Job

This blog's dying?

Sort of. The author was too lazy to update it.

But then, he suddenly came back. Well... for the meantime...

****

I haf to tell you ah, working here in new office is much better hor. Everyday lunch time hor, sure can see leng jai every where one. From Loreal la, Deloitte la, Kraft la, and even from my company. There are no leng jai from my department (too bad!) but the department next door, there's a hunky Malay guy. Our employee club's new secretary also not bad hor, good thing is since I'm also a committee member of the club, so I get to see him every time we have meeting. :p

Then there's this tall guy in specs, and a former Malaysia Hottest Hunk Top 12 finalist (we call him Mr October cos he was featured on the month of October in the calendar. Cannot remember which year lah... maybe 2007). Too bad both also in the department next door, so I don't have much chance to see them in office. :(

Then hor, when queuing up to "tah pau" lunch, when I see there's a leng jai in the queue, I will go and stand near to him lo. Hahaha, so vain hor... I know lah. :P

So overall, except from the problems in my department, it's fun to work here lo, unlike my old company.

*The second last paragraph is just a joke!

Blah Blah Blah

In case you're wondering, I'm pretty much still alive.

Life's been hectic at work ever since I started work at this new company. When reach home, it's time to prepare dinner. I also go to gym less nowadays. Janvier and Nivlac were getting bored of gym as well. Even my makan kakis aren't that active in food blogging anymore. Sometimes, I feel as if I'm slowly becoming like them.

The other day, I saw this camera at the shop. I have been thinking to get a new one and give my current one to my sister. Just after that, my current camera started to act strangely - it takes longer time to startup and the lens will retract and restart automatically when in use.

The other day while playing P4, I accidentally "chose" the wrong options which led the game to a bad ending... Luckily I saved the game before that. I'm quite eager to replay it but my biggest obstacle at home would be Nivlac. You see, there is only one TV and I can't use it cos he just bought a set of TVB drama DVDs yesterday... he's watching it as I'm typing this.

Then then then... I got a surprise present from AmeerZachary last week. He posted me the Bangkok Love Story DVD set which he bought in Taiwan! So sweet of him :)
*Thanks again AZ!

Music From FFVI

*Friday, 15th May 2009*

Suddenly thought of putting this up after Janvier told me about Distant World: Music From Final Fantasy (that was last month, by the way) concert in SG.

My first reaction was "Why doesn't the concert come to KL!?"

A gamer I am, but I'm not a loyal fan of Final Fantasy. In fact, out of the thirteen/fourteen main installments of Final Fantasy (not including those metaseries and spin-offs), I only played FFI, FFVI (also known as FFIII for North America's version), FFX, FFX-2 and FFXII (not completed).

In these 5 series, I personally feel that FFXII has the best CGI movies (for the meantime, before FFXIII is out, I guess), FFX has the best gameplay and FFVI has the best video game music soundtracks.

I particularly love a few tracks from FFVI, such as Forever Rachel, Celes Theme, Relm and Aria di Mezzo Carattere, where Celes 'performed' the song during a cutscene involving an opera performance. The track remain popular today and have been performed numerous times in orchestral concerts.

Celes (orchestrated) - Final Fantasy 6

Forever Rachel - Nobuo Uematsu

Aria di Mezzo Carattere - Celes in the opera scene in the game

Stephen, Oh Stephen

*Thursday, 30th April 2009*

Gawd, yesterday was my first time attending Stephen's B.Jam and I think my eyes were just practically glued on his arms, chest and hips.

Why does younger guys nowadays becoming more and more attractive?

Maybe that's the reason why Alexander, LemonLime and Braving are going gaga over guys younger than them. Hmmm...

Oh and by the way, it was Nivlac's suggestion to attend his class. He just dump B.Pump that day and say "Let's go for Stephen's class today!"

South to Sporeland, Part 1

*Friday, 17th April 2009*

Braving, Nivlac and I intruded Singapore end of last month to pay Sinner (who was assigned to work there for 3 weeks) and DL a visit. Since we can bunk in at Sinner's hotel for free, Nivlac decided to fly over thru Tiger Airways.

The interior of the plane is very similar to AirAsia except that their seats are in dark blue and made of fabric (red and leather in AirAsia).

Immediately after we were seated, a lady sat opposite us and was scolding the air stewardess. Apparently, her finger was bleeding and I think she was annoyed by their slow "rescue" action.

Singapore's budget terminal at Terminal 2 was quite empty that morning but very clean and new. We took the MRT at Terminal 3 by free shuttle bus (from Terminal 2 to Terminal 3) straight to City Hall (if I remember correctly).

It was still early, about nine something in the morning and DL haven't arrive to meet up with us, so we walked a bit into Raffles City mall. Most of the shops weren't open yet except a few restaurants serving breakfast. Took a shot of the neatly arranged tables and chairs of the lower ground food court, shown below.

Photobucket

Finally met up with DL and he brought us to Marina Square for brunch. According to Nivlac, DL insisted to come to this place called Xin Wang HK char chan teng (cafe) because he liked the food here. We had nissin noodles, curry chicken bun, pork chop, noodles with spicy pork cubes, prawn paste chicken and we shared a dessert, the tallest mango snow ice I've ever had! The shaved ice were topped with mango puree, mango cubes and one scoop of mango ice cream. Pure enjoyment for mango aficionados!

Photobucket

We then walked over to Esplanade, which is next to JP Morgan building, camwhored a bit at the back of the building that overlooked the skyscrapers and the Merlion fountain and took MRT to our next destination... Funan DigitaLife Mall since Braving said he wanna have a look on iPhone.

Photobucket

Photobucket

But we've came to the wrong place as the mall is only selling computer and accessories! Soooo, we walked to Bugis Junction instead, not without stopping by at a noon market to gobble on ice cream bun (their ice cream for bun is cut into rectangular shape!)

Photobucket

Upon arriving at Bugis, the three of them immediately "surrounded" the poor iPhone on display (working model, not dummy) - shake, knock with finger, press, slide, flip, take photos etc while I just standing behind and watch. Me not an Apple fan :p

Photobucket

Tired from all the walking, we stopped by at MOS burger to grab a teriyaki chicken burger set (very fresh lettuce, unlike KFC or McD) and took the MRT to Chinatown to meet up with Sinner (finally!) as he only can leave work at 6pm. Imagine that we actually walked since 9am++ till 6pm++.

Took shower and before dinner, Sinner brought us to Sportsmen Asia store inside Chinatown Point. A very gayish shop, with lots of underwears, tank tops, sex toys, fancy shirts and pants, male magazines, postcards, posters, lubricants for sell. And also, some friendly gay sales promoters. I got a piece of black, but thin cloth, short sleeves shirt. Wondering whether it'll be sheer in sunlight.

*to be continued....

p/s: I'll be leaving for GuangZhou in another few hours (might have reached by the time you read this), will be back next Tuesday. Have a good weekend ahead!

Thank You My Job

*Friday, 17th April 2009*

5.40pm

"Hafiq, here's my entry tag."
"Okay, thank you. Good luck to your new job. See you."
"Thanks! Bye."

5.25pm

Was deleting and uninstall all the craps that I saved into my office PC; MP3, blog pictures, FTP program, wallpapers, resume etc etc. Won't be using the PC anymore.

4.00pm

"Yes Mr XXX, your order has been executed. Thank you."

3.30pm

Sinner's MSN message: "Another 1.5 hours to go!"

3.15pm

Was busy filling in the account application forms for my last new client at the counter. Made mistakes repeatedly and I have to re-fill them again and again. It's been a while since I actually do that, frankly.

* * * * *

That was my last few hours at work before I left the office for good. Today was my last day and it was pretty hectic. Astin will take over my place temporary starting next week till my boss finds a new staff, and I was busy sorting out my messy documents and files to be pass over to him.

Honestly, I'm a bit sad to leave. I'm gonna miss the freedom... or should I say, the privilege to use the TV to watch my Rachael Ray Show, unblocked Internet line for blogs and Facebook and so on. Also, I'll miss talking to my boss about cooking stuff, travel tips and food.

Thank you, my job... for supporting me all these while since I came to KL in June 2007. I shall miss you.

Throwing Stuff In My Dreams

*Friday, 20th March 2009*

I had a weird and disturbing dream last night.

If you're a third-person shooting gamer, you might understand this better. The scene is like you're looking from a third party perspective.

I was sitting at a porch, facing the main gate. A dog, golden hair and unknown name was lying down on the floor, sleeping... further away from me. Then suddenly, a big piece of brownish red stuff flew into the porch and landed a few meters from me. I look at it and realised it was a piece of meat.

And just when I bend down and take that piece of meat, a guy with dark skin, curly short hair and angry face (resembles a Negro) climbed the fence and jumped in. At that moment, I spontaneously threw that meat at him, which caused him to mutter a few lines of speech in an unfamiliar language. At the same time, the dog awakes and charge at him but couldn't get him as the neck chain pulls it back.

That guy surprisingly, doesn't seem afraid of the dog. While continue to babble and scold in the foreign language, he threw the meat back to me. I evades and threw some of the items nearest to me, back at him (now you know why it feels like I'm playing a shooting game at this point), while the dog continues to bark and tried to charge at him.

That's when I woke up and realised it was just 3.30am. The image of that guy's face continues to linger in my head, so I got up and grabbed myself a glass of water before hitting the pillow again.

Call me racist but I think I'll avoid any possible encounter with a Negro from now on...

Be Back Soon

*Thursday, 19th March 2009*

Finally got to recharge my camera batteries (charger left at home in Ipoh previously)... so pictures and new post will be up soon.

Gym Bunny, Gym

*Thursday, 12nd March 2009*

Me: It's raining heavily, you still wanna continue?
BunnyBan:
I'm around the area, might as well go for it. Are you ok?
Me:
Sure. See you at 7 then.

An so, Bunny made his way to FF Axis yesterday. He's been saying things like wanna bulk up, eliminate the ever-growing belly and improving his stamina... hence I recommend that he pays FF a visit since I have free guest passes.

Initial plan was to introduce him to B.Jam but upon showing the receptionist his guest pass, a sales consultant was assigned to him and you know... all those sales talk... Ergh. He didn't agreed to join on the spot as he wanted to try out the GX programmes, so we went for B.Pump instead. Which was a good choice I think as he mentioned that he gets dizzy easily in any sort of aerobics/cardio exercise.

But after the third/fourth track, I saw him started to breathe heavily and he gave me hint that his head's spinning. I asked him to leave the studio, grab a drink and take a break but he insist on going for the next tracks after a short break.

So, yeah... he completed the whole B.Pump class on his first attempt. We then rested a while for him to catch his breath before shower and adjourned for late dinner at Sunway.

远走高飞 - 李圣杰

*The song somehow plays faster than the lyric = ="

Pantry Posing

*Wednesday, 25th February 2009*

I was filling up my water bottle in the pantry just now.

The water was flowing slowly...

And I found myself posing while waiting. Right hand in the pocket, legs crossed, shoulder leaned against the wall.

I looked to my right side, changed from my left hand that was holding the bottle with my right hand, put my left hand in the pocket and slant my body a bit to the right.

Then I put my hand on the pocket at the back of the pants. And I started to make faces as if there was a photoshoot session.

= ="

What's happening to me?? Kena rasuk in the pantry???

Interview-ed

*Tuesday, 24th February 2008*

I took half day leave and went for an interview yesterday.

That was the first time I was interviewed by three people and being hurled with plenty of case study questions (aptitude test?).

The verdict? A little stressful (gotta think fast and reply calmly). No idea how it will turn out to be as I only will know the result on Friday. If I got this job, it's more likely I will have to work till late (bye bye weekdays' gym classes) but of course, with higher pay. Save of transportation fee too as I can just walk to work (like how I used to do when I was still staying in Cheras).

Let's wait and see for now.

Of Coming Out And Burden

*Wednesday, 18th February 2009*

"Coming out to your parents is not a fun thing to do. By telling them your sexual preferences, you indirectly passed your burden to them."

The "burden" mentioned here refers to the dreadful/disturbing question often hurled by your relatives during festive season... "When are you going to get married ah?"

That was my dear Nivlac's comment to us in the car one fine evening, while we were driving back home with Sinner.

So, how would coming out to your parents, burdened them?

"You might feel free or feel like the burden you carry all these time lifted from your shoulder if you tell your parents and they accept you. But the thing that you don't know is... by telling them, the situation changed."

For example, when Auntie A asked, "When is [insert name here] gonna get married?", your mom would answer, "Don't know him lah.... wait till he get a girlfriend first lah".

Did you notice the hope (the hope that you would really have a nice girlfriend, settle down and have kids) in her reply?

But your mom now would have answered, "He's old enough to decide himself..."

So, by coming out to them, you eventually put their hope for you to a dead end.

For some guys, they don't really care what's the consequences. Those who wanna take control of their lives, of course, would wish that their parents will understand and accept who they really are.

Daemon: If you ask me, I will never come out to my parents. I rather deny or lie to them than telling them the truth. I don't want them to be sad or blaming themselves at their age... that's the least I can do. Although their hope on me to get married one day is impossible, I will do anything it takes to keep that hope.

Jack Jack: I would never tell my parents. I love them and I don't wish to see them sad. It is that simple.

Somehow, I have to admit that I'm agree with Daemon and Jack Jack on this. But of course, that only applies if your parents are conservative.

How about you?

Xavier's First Jam

*Tuesday, 3rd February 2009*

SMS-ing Janvier: "Are you going for Jam later?"
Janvier's reply: Yes. Ken's teaching.
SMS-ing Janvier: "Er... Ken or Kenny?"
Janvier's reply: Ken?
SMS-ing Janvier: "Timetable says Kenny. I wonder if I should stay back for Jam after PT."
Janvier's reply: Stay for Jam!
SMS-ing Janvier: "Ok ok."

Photobucket

After PT... 5.00pm

Janvier: We'll go and change first.
Hyperion: *eyes scanning around and spotted someone familiar in white tank top and slightly golden hair* OMG, your singlet is sheer!
Xavier: I just pindah rumah mah.

In the changing room... 5.10pm

Xavier: *gasp* I forgotten to bring an extra underwear! Never mind, I shall wear nothing inside for now. More cooling.
Hyperion: Can we pull your pants later? :P
Janvier: Then no need to wear anything lah :P

Studio... 5.25pm and we actually dragged Xavier into the studio for his first B.Jam class ^^ Woo hoo!

Photobucket
Don't stop movin!

Come to think of it now, I didn't persuade him much. Maybe he was interested to give it a shot these while but no one accompanies him? Whatever the reasons are, we thinks he like the Latin moves and he did pretty good for a newbie.

So Xavier, bila mau pergi lagi? :P

p/s: We'll cover you so you won't look much like a cacat-man-whom-just-came-out-from-the-rehab. (LOLs)

CNY Movies

*Wednesday, 28th January 2009*

I'm finally back from the CNY celebration at my hometown. Actually I can't wait to come back to KL as it's very boring at home: no Internet, no computer, no Facebook! And gawd, the weather was crazily hot.

Deprived of Internet and Astro being occupied by others during daytime, I end up watching DVD with the old TV instead. Good thing that there are eye candies in the film.

Ghost Rider was okay; the actions were not very interesting but hell, the young Johnny Blaze played by Matt Long was HOT! Maybe I should say "he's cute" instead of hot.

Step Up 2 was good, much better than Step Up especially when I think that main actor Robert Hoffman is way much hotter than Channing Tatum.

See? I melted every time he flashed his smile.

And here's my favourite scene from the movie.

Yay for hip-hop!

Yay To Samsung

*Thursday, 22nd January 2008*

So we went to Tropicana Mall last week after Nivlac saw the Samsung Mobile sales here.
Was torn in between Samsung SGH F330 and F250; I prefer the slimmer F330 with 2.0 megapixels camera, larger screen and higher resolution but Nivlac said the F250 is more stylish with glossy, reflective front, not-so bulky buttons and of course, cheaper price tag too.

I chose F250 in the end. F330 doesn't have basic function such as calendar and calculator. :S

Photobucket

The slider F250 is equipped with 1.3 megapixels camera (I don't mind this as my Lumix will always be my priority in photos taking), 2GB memory card and 65K TFT LCD screen (the fonts became very BIG, not good for notti SMS/pictures especially when you're stucked in a crowded train!)

So, why Samsung?

1. Nokia is too common. I always like to be special.
2. Confused with SE's system. Don't like their SMS feature.
3. Motorola's prices are too high for the given functions.
4. Been using Samsung for more than 4 years, I just love their design. Samsung have not given me any problems yet.

So yay to Samsung!

The Music Is Alive Again

*Wednesday, 21st January 2009*

Finally got a new phone from Best Denki, Tropicana City Mall during their handphone sales last week. It has the outer music hot keys like my previous model!

A sneak peek...

Details coming soon...

Hardcore Fan

*Tuesday, 20th January 2008*

First and foremost, Happy 28th Birthday to Janvier! The BFFs gang celebrated his birthday last Saturday, a surprise for him, all thanks to The Chief who planned and arranged everything meticulously. Api, Nivlac, Sinner and yours truly got him a stainless steel cocktail shaker as present but unbeknownst to us, Nase and QR also got him the same item (same item, same price, same store but different date and different wrapping :p ). We should had buy lottery that day.

Aside from that, I noticed something lately:

Photobucket

Nivlac is a hardcore Panasonic fan! I only own one Panasonic item, that's my current digital camera. Anyone can guess what those items are? :P

My E730 Went Missing

*Sunday, 11st January 2009*

As of today, my Samsung SGH E730 has been MIA for one whole week.

Photobucket

I accidentally left it in Manulife's FF changing room after shower last Saturday evening. I remembered I took it out from my bag a while to check on SMS and missed calls, changed my shirt and took some tissue paper from the hair dryer counter to wipe my forehead. Then we left the gym to Jalan Ipoh to pick Sinner and that's when I realized it's not in my pocket. Nivlac and Sinner tried to call the number but the person who picked it up, already switched off the phone. We rushed back to the gym, searched the changing room thoroughly but couldn't find it. Even the receptionist claimed that he did not receive any lost phone.

It's not a latest model, I have been using it for the past 4 years. It was an expensive phone back then but I liked it due to the music hot keys are located at the outside of the phone. Luckily I don't store important notes/contacts in the phone. I still can get back the contact list. But birthdates, pics of some hot guys and mp3s are gone with it.

Photobucket

I'm surveying some potential models now... Will only get a new one after CNY, I guess. Start the new year with a new phone... :(

After Relocation

*Wednesday, 6th January 2008*

As of 31st December 2008, I officially move out from my rented place of one and a half year in Cheras and moved to Damansara with Nivlac. Finally gave back the house keys to the landlord. When I first came down to KL, I didn't have much things with me but then only I realized I'm such a rubbish collector! I subconciously kept plenty of boxes (small and large) and shopping bags (those from Padini, Seed, G2000, William Liew etc) in my room and it was quite a hell to get rid of them. Thank God for Nivlac, Teckiee and Xavier's help(ss), I finally threw all the unnecessary stuff and moved the remaining ones to Nivlac's place. *hug hug*

So, yes, new life in Damansara. I've always like PJ but right now, I'm still working in Cheras. I have to wake up early (Mon-Fri) at 6am, take LRT to Masjid Jamek, then change bus to my office. Then the opposite routine on the way back to PJ *wipes sweat off forehead* I have to sleep earlier nowadays (around 10 - 11), which makes me have little time for blogging and net surfing.

But the newly opened Tropicana City Mall is just opposite the condo, so groceries shopping is a breeze. Time to plan for a housewarming party, say, probably in February.

After staying here for about 2 weeks, I noticed there are a few units occupied by gays here too. I saw 2 guys in a black Toyota, looking back at me when I drove out one evening, one staying at 2 doors away from our unit and bumped into another 3 stocky guys in their late 30s in the lift yesterday.

Also, instead of going to Leisure Mall for gym, I'm now stopping at Axis' branch after work.

Of course, staying together also means there's many things need to be adjust and compromise, for example, he always said that he can't find one particular shirt (cos I accidentally mixed them with other and put in the wrong compartment) and we have to tolerate with each other with the TV usage. He's a Hokkien and a Singaporean drama fan, while I prefer Asian Food Channel, Discovery, National Geographic and PS2... you get the idea. I separate dark and black colour laundry from Ikea towels when washing (as the wool will stuck on the shirts and pants) but he insisted to wash them together to save water and electricity.

But despite all these, I'm happy that I can get to know him better - an essential element to maintain a stable relationship. Furthermore, I'm now much nearer to Jin, Janvier, WMW, Lifebook, Bunny, Danielle and LemonLime too. :)
