A Date With Astin

*Sunday, 30th March 2008*

Went out with Astin yesterday; first destination was Starhill Gallery for food tasting, Malay dishes to be precise but fine dining style. The food were simply marvelous. Good ambiance, good service. We ate, chatted and lingered in the restaurant for 4 hours! (unexpected)

We crossed over to Pavilion after that and got ourselves Joh King tarts again. He had the green tea while I picked the coffee flavour. Not good... the coffee taste was too light. As usual, our gaydars picked up signals from everywhere (ping my dar, finally I can say that!) I also went into Padini Concept Store to take a look on the vest that Defiant was ranting about.

Stop by Pudu for yong tau foo and curry chee cheong fun dinner and then Astin suggested "Let's go watch movie! I wanna watch Ah Long Pte Ltd". So he drove all the way to Mid Valley...

Fortunately, we able to get the tickets (such good luck). The movie is quite okay, plenty of violence, fighting, bloody scenes mixed up with comedy in 3 languages (Hokkien, Mandarin and Cantonese). The movie was shoot mostly in KL (can see Old Town kopitiam, Cheras branch in some of the scenes).

After that, drinks at Old Town Cheras... because Astin wanna kap zhai (feast his eyes) and bumped into his ex-colleague, Mr. S (can imagine I'm drooling while they greet each other) but too bad Astin didn't introduce him to me. *tsk tsk tsk* Anyway, I don't think he will be interested in a midget like me.

Superpower

*Sunday, 23rd March 2008*

Happy Easter.

I recently downloaded Heroes Season 1 (yeah, I know I'm quite outdated). I like how the heroes started to discover their abilities and use them to change certain situations. Love Claire's regenerative and healing ability.

If I can choose my power, I want to be invisible. When I was still in secondary school, there's a group of college/university students rent a house opposite mine. They spoke Mandarin, so I guess they're not local (maybe from mainland China or Taiwan). You can call me pervert but I used to spy on them from my room when they hang out at the porch, topless. That time, I was thinking, it would be good if I can be invisible so I can sneak into their house (or worst, their rooms or bathroom!).

Invisible sex!

Yeah, if I have superpower, I will be one of the villians. The perverted villian. :p
Then I can follow some hottie back home or to the gym changing room. *evil grin*

This is just another random post on a boring Sunday noon.

Snickers Story

*Thursday, 20th March 2008*

If you ask me what chocolate bar I like, the answer will be Snickers. There's a story behind it actually.

When I was 9 or 10 years old, my parents sent me to this tuition centre somewhere nearby my mom's ex-employer's house after school. I used to call her Aunty. She stayed with another older aunt (I call her "Mami") as her daughter was working in Singapore and her husband in Canada.

So, every night after tuition, around 10 o' clock, Aunty will come and pick me back to her house. Then dad will come over to pick me from her house after he off work (for your info, my dad is a workaholic, he start work around 7.30 - 8.00 am till 10.00 - 11.00 pm for 6 days, every week).

Sometimes I'll follow Aunty to walk her dog, Mickey around the neighbourhood while waiting for my dad to come. And when it's raining or she got some sewing works to do, I'll sit at the living room cum working area, read her daughter's old comic books such as Mandy (anyone heard of this before?) or watch TV.

Remember the other older aunt I mentioned earlier? One night, Aunty switched on the Redifusion (remember this? the big black box that act as a radio) and went to kitchen, left me alone at the living room. Then suddenly, it started to tell ghost stories (OMG!) and I was there alone! I can't off it as the switch is too high to reach so I ended up sitting and trembling... I wanna run to the kitchen but my feet doesn't want to.

Then luckily, Mami came to the living room with her walking stick and ask me whether I want chocolate. I say ok and she gave me a bar of Snickers (it was quite a big serving for me that time as my parents never allow me to have one whole bar of chocolate to myself). On my first bite, I totally forgotten about the ghost story... my mind was only on the chocolate. I like peanuts, so I found the chocolate absolutely delicious! And since I can have the whole bar to myself, I felt really pampered at the moment.

Snickers original

And so, I've been a loyal fan on Snickers till today (that doesn't mean I don't eat other types of chocolate, but Snickers is my favourite). Everytime I buy a bar of Snickers, I'll think of Mami. Although she's no longer here in this world, the memory of her will remain within me.

Peeping Through The Lens

*Sunday, 16th March 2008*

Photo session was fun. Although it wasn't like what I expected, but it's quite an eye opener. This was my first serious photo shoot session after all. Did some extremely weird things that I won't do normally, for example; sit on the bathroom floor and lie on the floor along the corridor! No lah, I didn't lie on the floor. Just squatt :p

Did I hear someone screaming "OMG"?

"All for the sake of art", the photographer said. "They say life is made bearable by the stories we save and tell".

Thanks to Mr. Photographer, I learned a new trick to eliminate the yellowish effect in my pictures if I happen to take pictures under yellow lights next time. Before left, he complimented on the Red Velvet and Butter Buttercup shots I took for Just Heavenly.

"You got talent lah! Your macro shots are good. Maybe you should consider getting a DSLR in the future."

I guess it's easier to communicate if two people shared the same interest afterall. Can't wait to see the result.

By the way, did I mention he's cute? :p

Random, Brief

*Saturday, 15th March 2008*

Not much tales to tell here. Just some random, brief updates.

Finally went for my haircut of the month nearby KLCC today and it feels great, despite that I waited 45 minutes for the stupid so-called Rapid bus.

After that, had lunch with Defiant (yeah, he's back to civilisation for the weekend), his friend C, AhBong and Fable Frog at Avenue K before hopping over to Pavilion to met up with Janvier and Chief. Had some green tea tarts and egg white terts from John King, they were delicious! Tried some on their red bean tart and original egg tarts too but the green tea and egg white tarts are better.

There will be a photo shoot session tomorrow noon at my flat (which explains why I'm eager to have my haircut). Hope that it'll goes smoothly. ;)

Gaming Nite With Api

*Thursday, 13rd March 2008*

Photobucket
ObsCure 2 for PS2

I was spooked while playing this few days ago. *Blames Defiant*

I admit I'm quite the chicken when it comes to horror/thriller genre of game/movie.... I never like to scare myself. I thought the game should be okay (from the screenshots at the back cover) but....

Photobucket
"Mei, I think there's something moving over there~~"

The game environment is dark and gloomy. Torchlight is my best friend.

Photobucket
"Someone's dead, Corey! I don't like this!
Let's get out of here, Corey!"

Corpses, blood stains and genetically-altered mutants are everywhere, plus some suspense music will occasionally pop up without notice.

I literally don't dare to play it alone at night.... until Api came over last night as he was nearby and we played the game together (ahahaha). The further we progressed in the game, the more death scenes we encounter until we were being chased, stucked in the lift and my character slaughtered by the rampaging mutant.

Azzuro Hypperion: Shit, why there's puzzle in the lift!?
Api: Faster turn the knobs, it's coming!
Azzuro Hyperion: I'm trying. *mumbling* Come on, come on... *rotating the knobs*
Api: Faster, faster! OMG, that thing's near! *roaring sound effect plus eerie music at background*
Azzuro Hyperion: Damn... OMG!

*Human screaming + beast attacking sound effect + louder eerie background music*

Api: Ewwww... don't want to play this anymore! So much dying scenes, will have trauma tau!
Azzuro Hyperion: Heheheh. If you're not here, I won't be playing this tonight le.

*Change disc to Justice League Heroes*

This is better. :P

Random Pictures

*Monday, 10th March 2008*

Went back to Ipoh the other day for two purposes; 1. wedding dinner and 2. to cast my first vote for the 2008 election. Voting is quite interesting and luckily there's no long queue. Ipoh's weather is darn hot, however. There's many eye candies at my ex-colleague's wedding dinner, and there's 2 sitting at the same table as me. One of them, whom I saw before looked very much like Alpha that Xavier mentioned before.

The next day, met up with Defiant (the only remaining of the legendary Notroh Woods Trio) for a scrumptious dim sum breakfast at Ming Court and then loitered around Yik Foong Complex and Ipoh Parade. Luckily for him, there's a mini Siam fair going on and he managed to have a preview of the stuff he will get on our Bangkok trip in July. Read bout the fair here.

On a separate note, I managed to capture the historical moment of Malaysia's share market today.

Photobucket
This is what we called Circuit Breaker

For the first time in Malaysia history, the share market dropped 130 points (equivalent to 10%) at 2.58pm, 10th March 2008, triggered the circuit breaker where the system auto halt all trading activities for one hour. Reason? People were freaked out by the so called "political uncertainty" after the election. Duh...

Meme of 4

*Friday, 7th March 2008*

Something is really wrong with me.

*Excerpt from Xavier's blog.

4 Jobs I've Had In My Life:

a) freelance web designer
- teamed up with 3 of my college friends, we formed a "freelance web design company" with me as the main designer (I scored the highest in Web and HTML in my class, don't play play :p ). Our first business was create a 3-frame homepage for a construction company in Seremban. We got RM900, so divide by 4, RM225 per person.

b) kitchen helper
- i remembered I mention before that I cook. I worked in a cafe after college (which is not related to the course I took!), basically need to list down the items that need to replenish (frozen meats, veggies, fruits, milk, seasonings etc) and help with the cooking itself. The best thing working in the kitchen is I can literally eat all the time (itchy hands will always prey on excessive fries, nugget, bun, sausage, ice blended fruit juice, ice cream etc etc) so I will never get starved. :p

c) shop assistant
- another non-related job to my studies, it's working in a photo shop. Too bad they don't sell digital cameras here, else I would have learned more on photography. It's a one leg kick job where I need to attend to customers, take orders, sort out photos, photostat, process the used negatives, change photo papers etc.

- Later, boss' wife getting lazier and teach me how to use the digital machine to print pictures (I'm the first employee who get to operate the machine all these years). When boss not around, me and the aunties will pakat to print our own pictures for free. *evil grin*

- Most challenging task is to refill the light sensitive photo paper in the dark room (there's no red light like those you watch in movie). And occasionally, I get to see some hottie's pictures (which I will secretly download to my thumb drive) and some sexual explicit video clips took with digital camera.

d) sales & admin, high end jewelry
- a friend recommend this job to me (the boss and my friend were uni-mates back in Oz) which is quite challenging cos my boss is a perfectionist and also all the other colleagues (mostly girls) are expert in persuading those tai tais and datins. But luckily, I get to do most of the paperwork (I don't like to serve females, mind you), build company's website, design jewelry based on client's custom order and learn about gemstones. It was a good experience.

4 Movies I
Can Watch Over And Over Again

a) Shall We Dance
b) Rice Rhapsody
c) Van Helsing
d) X-Men trilogy

*These are the movies that kept me company for the first few months when I moved to KL.

4 Places I've Been On Vacation

a) Bangkok - one of the place I love the most; the food, the bizarre stuff you can find there, the people, the gay clubs etc.

b) Pangkor Island - a relaxing place, with clean and beautiful private beach facing the Straits of Malacca, nice salted egg crabs, monkeys at the verandah, nice sunset view.

c) Taman Negara, Pahang - miss this place a lot, one of the best nature holiday I had. Jungle trekking to Teresek Hill top, canopy walk, Gua Telinga, "rapid shooting" and real real nice authentic Malay meals...

d) Pattaya - although I prefer BKK than this, it's a good place to visit for the beach if you're into water sports and go go bars.

4 Of My Favourite Food

Only 4!? I have plenty in my mind!

a) Kin Kin chilli pan mee
b) Egg skin popiah
c) Ais kacang with ice cream
d) Death by Chocolate

4 Places I Would Like To Visit

b) French Polynesia (Bora Bora, Tahiti...)
c) Kenyir Lake
d) Langkawi Island

c) omg
d) aiyer

4 TV Shows I Love To Watch

a) Dramas: Charmed, The Naked Truth, Desperate Houswives,
b) Cooking shows: AFC Channel
c) Science, Nature: National Geographic, Discovery
d) Cartoons: Kickers, Power Rangers (when I was still in secondary school!)

Lazy to tag anyone..... just do this for fun :p

Citi Fan

*Thursday, 6th March 2008*

Hmm... what am I doing? It's not like me to update so frequently...

I was supposed to be browsing at pasar malam just now when droplets of rain started to fall... *DEM* No choice, so I hurried to the nearby shophouses and settle for dinner.... wan tan mee, a bad one. :(

No one were on MSN or GTalk. Guess everyone must be busy dating.. Then suddenly feel like wanna take pictures. So I ransacked my drawer (more like a hidden trash compartment) and found these:

Photobucket
Ooo.. I'm rich!

I'm such a loyal Citibank fan ain't it? I changed the card 4 times (start from black to gold, then blue and back to black now). Don't ask me why, I don't know either.

Looking at these cards, they reminds me a lot of my ex, G. In fact, these are the sub-cards he gave to me. We practically using the same card (colour) from the same company until now. In case you're wondering, yes, I still keep the latest one. It's still swipe-able as he refused to terminate my card even after we broke up.

If he change card again, I might get another new one. I wonder what colour I will get. The platinum one, maybe? :P

Single & Picky or Single & Afraid?

*Wednesday, 5th March 2008*

Many guys asks me this question lately.

"How come you're still single?"

And I answered:

"Cos 1. I'm not physically attractive 2. Lazy to meet new people and 3. I'm picky."

Yeah, everyone know that I'm picky.

So, how picky am I actually? I don't think I know the answer... you know, it's pretty much like a spontaneous reaction. It's like you saw something nice at the mall and immediately you say, "Hey, that's nice!"

Does that mean that I'm picky?

I don't think I'm picky, to be honest. It's just that the feeling is not there. You know, the moment you saw the guy and suddenly you realize that you can't keep your eyes away from him. You realize that you must get his attention on you. You realize that you must get his contact number no matter what.

It might sounded like love at first sight but who cares.

It's not that I didn't try to pursue the guy I'm interested with (let's call him Mr. A)... I did but he didn't seem to have the same feeling on me. I did asked him out for lunch, dinner, movie and even tried to celebrate V-Day with him but was rejected. So I stop. Recently, I noticed that he's in a relationship. Although I feel a bit disappointed, I do hope that he's happy.

It's been a year since my previous relationship, and sometimes, I felt that I don't know how to fall in love anymore. Maybe I'm afraid to get hurt again. Or maybe I'm not ready (but how come I will feel lonely!? Blehh....) Oh well....

Waiting... and waiting...

Die Die Die, Live Live Live

*Monday, 3rd March 2008*

I usually don't blog on Monday. Monday is the most dreaded day for corporate slave like me.

When I set my GTalk status to "Busy, sleepy, grumpy" this morning, Xavier (seems to be quite free) buzzed me.

*Crappy English ahead. Read with your own risk.*

Xavier: Why u so busy today???
Azzuro Hyperion: Cos it's Monday lah. Why you so happy?
Xavier: Cos I want to cheat myself. So i tell myself i m very happy lor. Self hypnotism.
Azzuro Hyperion: Haaa? Poor Xavier.

After lunch time...

Xavier: Still busy???
Azzuro Hyperion: Haiz... feel like wanna jump out from the window. 5th floor can die or not?
Xavier: Cannot. But very painful. And half dead. Walk down to buy ice cream, then no need to die.
Azzuro Hyperion: (How did he know I like ice cream???) Cannot leave, clients might call. It would be so good if got someone tapau (pack) snacks for me and bring it here :(
Xavier: Awwwww... I tapau for u, but give it to u when i next see u :p
Azzuro Hyperion: Cis... then u might as well makan it yourself lah.
Xavier: 5pm! No need to jump cos it's pass office hour. Yay!
Azzuro Hyperion: I off at 6pm la. Poor me. Got one more hour to go... can die.
Xavier: 48 minutes to go.
Azzuro Hyperion: Die die die.
Xavier: Live live live.

[insert laptop and computer stuff here]

Xavier: But what about the vista business with AERO experience?
Azzuro Hyperion: You need that meh?
Xavier: Isn't it a good experience there? Got AERO woh. ( ----> <---- <---<<< ) Nice to have isn't it? :p
Azzuro Hyperion: = =" Can I shoot u with that aero?
Xavier: Cannot.
Azzuro Hyperion: Can lah.
Xavier: Eh... no finger print! No web camera!
Azzuro Hyperion: Buy separately lah.
Xavier: I want finger print ler. Like more COOL liddat. Ok la, it's about time to go. See, not so bad la another hour. Bukannyer nak mati pun :p
Azzuro Hyperion: Jumping later mah.
Xavier: Save energy to jump from 5th floor. And save money for ice cream. So next time feel sien (bored), go to dell.com.my and formulate a "peng leng cheng" (cheap and nice) laptop for me. :p C u tomorrow. Tata!

I think I giggled while I type them out. Thanks Xavier.
